Antalya vs Dalaman: Which Airport for a Family All-Inclusive?
Antalya if you want the big all-inclusive resorts and a short transfer — Belek is about 35 minutes from the terminal. Dalaman if you want smaller, greener resorts around Fethiye and Ölüdeniz and don’t mind roughly two hours in a coach. They serve genuinely different stretches of coast, so the real decision is transfer time against resort character, not which airport is "better".
Transfer times that actually matter
The Marmaris rows are the point of this table. It is served by both airports and the difference is roughly three hours each way, so an otherwise cheaper flight into Antalya can cost you most of two days.
| Resort | Airport | Distance | Typical transfer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Belek | Antalya | 15 km | around 35 minutes |
| Side | Antalya | 70 km | around 1 hour |
| Marmaris | Antalya | 350 km | around 5 hours |
| Ölüdeniz | Dalaman | around 2 hours | |
| Marmaris | Dalaman | around 1h 30m to 2 hours |
What each airport actually serves
Antalya covers Lara, Belek, Side, Alanya and Kemer: large purpose-built resort hotels, long sandy stretches, and the heart of Turkey's ultra all-inclusive market.
Dalaman covers Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Dalyan, Kaş, Kalkan and Marmaris: greener, more mountainous, smaller in scale, and more of the coastline people actually photograph.
What we're seeing on fares right now
Here is what our own live offer data holds for the two airports on one day.
| Antalya (AYT) | Dalaman (DLM) | |
|---|---|---|
| Live fares we're tracking | 98 | 35 |
| UK departure airports covered | 7 | 3 |
| Cheapest right now | £90 from London, 26 Nov | £96 from London, 20 Sep |
A snapshot from our own data on one day, not a market survey. Antalya's wider choice of UK departures is the more durable difference — it's a much bigger airport.
The mistake worth avoiding
Booking a Marmaris hotel and then taking a cheap flight into Antalya. It happens because the fare looks better and the map looks fine.
Five hours each way with children is not a saving. Match the airport to the resort first, then compare fares within that.
Which suits families better
Honest answer: Antalya, marginally, and mainly because of transfer time and the density of hotels with kids' clubs and waterparks.
But Dalaman's resorts are quieter and the scenery is better, which suits families with older children who don't need a resort to entertain them. That's a preference rather than a fact, and we'd rather say so than dress it up as one.

The verdict
Choose Antalya for the shortest transfer, the widest choice of UK departures, and the biggest all-inclusive hotels.
Choose Dalaman for Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Kaş or Kalkan, and accept the two-hour transfer as the price of a prettier coastline.
Whichever you pick, check what the all-inclusive label actually covers — our guide What Does All-Inclusive Actually Include in Turkey? sets out which drinks and extras are genuinely in the price.
